Even in February there are many tourists in the square. I imagine what is happening here in the summer. Among the various temples, buildings, and landmarks, I noticed a small but interesting site near the Baptistery. This is the column of San Zanobi (or St. Zinovius of Florence), erected in honor of the miracle of the Bishop of Florence, who died in about 430. According to legend, when in the ninth century the relics of the saint were transferred from one church to another, in winter the cancer with the relics affected the elm and it was covered with foliage. The exact date of the installation of the column is unknown, but in 1333 it was already standing here, exactly where the tree grew. At the top of the column is a cross, below it is a crown, and on the column itself is an image of a tree.
