The Accademia Gallery is one of the most famous museums in Italy. The Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1561; many masters of the Florentine school of painting worked here. Today, the museum has one of the largest collections of paintings and sculptures by Italian masters, and the most famous exhibit of the Gallery is "David" - a sculpture of the great Michelangelo.
