The image of Nicholas the Wonderworker is an integral part of every Orthodox church, his image is dear to us also because St. Nicholas is the patron saint of travelers. The Orthodox Church celebrates Saint Nicholas on the day of his death (December 6/19) and on the day of the transfer of his myrrh-streaming relics to the city of Bari from the World of Lycia (May 9/22). Donations for the construction of the Orthodox complex in Bari were collected throughout Russia at the beginning of the last century.→
