The historical house of Tabatabai was built at the end of the 19th century, in 1881, by the wealthy Persian Tabatabai family. Its construction was carried out by the famous architect Ali-Maryam Kashani and the artist Mohammad Ghaffari at that time. It is famous for its avant-garde architecture, decorative ornaments, colored stained-glass windows, fascinating details from the mirrors on the ceilings. The area of ​​the mansion is 5000 square meters, it consists of five smaller houses and four wonderful courtyards, with a summer terrace, ornamental gardens, fountains and fish pools. The interior decoration presents the classic features of traditional Persian residential architecture. The stucco and stone carvings on the walls are perfectly preserved. Now the house functions as a museum, and here you can also buy inexpensive handmade souvenirs.

Tabatabai House, or in Persian Khan Tabatabai, is a historic urban mansion in the oasis city of Kashan in the province of Isfahan, Iran. At the beginning of the 19th century, trade in Kashan was brisk, merchants grew rich and competed in the construction of luxurious mansions. The magnificent Tabatabai house was built in 1881 by the architect Ali-Maryam Kashani for a wealthy carpet merchant. The murals and stucco molding of the building were carried out under the guidance of the most famous artist of the Qajar era, Mohammad Ghaffari, who received the title "Kamal-ol-Molk" - "Earthly Perfection" for his unsurpassed talent.
