Church of the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit Church
India, South Goa
During a short period of Christian influence in Margao, a church was built by Jesuit monks, but ten years later, in 1574, Muslims came and destroyed the church. Later, in the period from 1645 to 1675, Christians erected the Church of the Holy Spirit in its place, which has survived to this day. There is a square in front of the church, where on the last Sunday of May a fair dedicated to the Day of the Holy Spirit takes place.
