Amber Fort was once the capital of the state of Jaipur. This huge, magnificent palace-fortress is a striking example of Rajput architecture. Maharajah himself used to climb here on elephants - now this attraction is very popular among tourists. Don't waste your money - it's worth it. Only female elephants participate in the climb, because elephants can be aggressive and unpredictable. Each elephant, according to the laws of the state, only makes 4 ascents and descents, and then rests. So hurry - the rise is only available until noon.→
