Agrasen Ki Baoli Well

Ugrasen ki baoli, Agrasen ki Baoli
India, Delhi
The Agrasen Ki Baoli Well is one of the deepest and oldest step wells in central New Delhi, India. This is a wide staircase, on both sides of which there are three tiers of arcades. In ancient times, architects created such wells as a reservoir for storing water. During its construction, crushed stone and rare durable stones were used. Presumably, Agrasen Ki Baoli is a legendary king who lived 5,000 years ago, but according to historians, his existence has not been proven. It's always quite crowded here. A very beautiful place to take pictures.

One of the many underground wells in India - the ancient well of Agrasena - is located in the very center of New Delhi. It was built in the 14th century, and at first glance it resembles an ancient temple. However, if you go down, it becomes clear that this is a well that was built to stock up drinking water during heavy rains. The depth of the well is 60 meters, there are 104 steps inside the well. Now the well is fenced and you can’t go down to the water itself, but you can sit on the steps and take some wonderful photos.
