The Marine Drive promenade stretches along Back Bay for more than 4 km, passing through
Chowpatty Beach and ending on Malabar Hill. The wealthiest residents of Mumbai - Bombay live here, the house of the Governor of Maharashtra is located here. Since 1961, one of the best aquariums in India has been operating on the embankment, with representatives of freshwater and marine flora and fauna. In addition to numerous tourists, locals like to come here to relax after work and breathe in the fresh sea breeze. Marine Drive looks especially colorful in the evening, when thousands of artificial lights are lit, resembling a string of pearls. Because of this, the embankment was nicknamed "The Queen's Necklace". During the year, festive city events are organized here, a traditional international marathon is held.
