Tel Aviv old port
old port
Israel, Tel Aviv
The old port is located north of the center of Tel Aviv at the point where the Yarkon River flows into the Mediterranean Sea.
It used to be a port, but now it is a lively area with bars, cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and shops, where many people come to have fun and relax.
The port was opened in 1936 in connection with attacks by Arabs on Jewish repatriates and the blocking of cargo supplies in the port of Jaffa. It was intended to receive boats and boats carrying cargo from ships anchored on the high seas. The old port closed in 1965 after a major port was built in Ashdod.
