Museum of Independence
Independence Hall, Dizengoff House, Independence Hall Museum
Israel, Tel Aviv
The house that currently houses the museum was the home of Dizzengoff, the first mayor of Tel Aviv, who gave it in 1936 as a museum of Art and Painting. And on May 14, 1948, Ben-Gurion proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel here. According to the photographs and testimonies of the Meeting participants, the Hall of the Declaration was recreated, and since 1978 the museum has opened its doors to the public.
The museum contains exhibits related to the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the history of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
On the top floor of the house is the Biblical Museum, which presents archaeological artifacts and works of art on biblical themes.
