Via Dolorosa is a street in the Old City of Jerusalem, along which, as it is believed, the path of Jesus Christ to the place of the crucifixion ran. Via Dolorosa contains nine of the fourteen stops of the Way of the Cross of Christ. The last five stops are on the territory of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Along Via Dolorosa are the following Christian churches (east to west):
Church of St. Anna (XII century) - according to Catholic tradition, it is located on the site of the house where the Mother of God was born, in the immediate vicinity of Bethesda, not far from the beginning of the Way of the Cross.
