Garden Tomb, Gordon's Calvary
Israel, Jerusalem
The "Garden Grave" is an ancient Jewish cave burial located north of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, near the Damascus Gate, at the foot of a small hill. Since the end of the 19th century, Anglicans and some other Protestants have revered this cave as the real tomb of Christ.

This tomb has been revered by Anglicans and Protestants for some time as the real tomb of Christ. But the true place of burial is still not exactly known. Someone claims that this is the place where the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is now located, and some point to the Tomb in the garden. As our guide told us, in the 19th century, an English general discovered a rock near the Old Town that looked like a human skull. Since Golgotha means skull in Aramaic, he decided that this place was Golgotha.
