Ein Karem is a residential area located in the western part of Jerusalem, until 1948 it was considered a suburb. The name of the district in Hebrew means "source of grapes". On its territory there are many Christian monasteries and churches, the most famous of which is the Gornensky Orthodox Women's Monastery.
