The Armenian Quarter is one of the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem. The Armenian Quarter is located in the southwestern part of the Old City and occupies about one sixth of its territory. It is believed that it is located on the site of the palace of King Herod the Great.
There are national schools in the quarter, there are many shops. The quarter is famous for its two libraries - the library of the Patriarchate, where unique ancient manuscripts are stored, and the library of Kalust Gulbekyan, a famous philanthropist who did a lot for the community in the first third of the 20th century.
