The Science Gallery is located on the territory of the Naughton Institute, which is part of the famous Trinity College, the most prestigious institution of higher education in Ireland, founded in 1592. The gallery was opened in 2008 with funding from Google as a science center and works on the principle of exhibitions, without a permanent collection. Exhibitions are devoted to various aspects of human life, the environment, new technical discoveries. Since the beginning of the gallery's work, it has already been visited by 2 million people, having the opportunity of practical participation in scientific research and collecting information on the topic of exhibitions.
The science gallery at Trinity College is part of the Science Gallery International Group, which, with the support of Google, has set a goal of creating such science galleries in the capitals of eight countries by 2020.
