National Museum of Ireland - Archeology
Ireland, Dublin
The Museum of Archeology, a branch of the National Museum of Ireland, is located in a round building built especially for the museum in 1890, with a marble hall, the floor of which is decorated with the signs of the Zodiac. The exposition of the museum, which includes 2 million exhibits, is located on two floors. On the ground floor you can get acquainted with the archaeological finds of the period of the ancient Celts. The museum is especially proud of the Cup of Ardak and the Brooch of Tara - outstanding examples of gold and silver items. The second floor is reserved for exhibits of medieval Ireland, Ancient Egypt, the earliest of which date back to the 7th century BC.
The museum also preserves the bodies of primitive people found in different places in Ireland in the period from 1821 to 2003. The museum has a laboratory for the study of such finds using the latest scientific methods.
