Farmley State Guest House is used as the residence of the Prime Minister of Ireland, for temporary accommodation of high-ranking foreign guests and government meetings. In 1999, the Irish government bought the house from the descendants of the famous brewer Arthur Guinness, who had owned the Farley estate since 1873. On an area of 31.5 hectares are: The main house of the estate, which is a classic example of Anglo-Victorian architecture; Clock tower; Ballroom; Several themed gardens; Pine and oak groves; Lake. The House houses a library and an art gallery, which hosts exhibitions of artists, architects and photographers.
At certain hours, visitors are allowed to view this interesting monument of architecture and nature in the estate. Entrance to Farley is through Phoenix Park.
