This museum was founded in 1980 by Agung Rai, a young Balinese collector and art lover. Today, the museum named after him is considered one of the most important dedicated to Balinese painting. The four halls of the museum host various exhibitions of works by contemporary Balinese artists and masters of the past. There is a permanent exhibition.
