Recently, a new excursion “Shark Island and Eco Adventures” has appeared in Bali. This "island" is actually a large pontoon located east of the coast of Serangan Island, from which blacktip shark diving is carried out. The project was founded in 2011 by Hawaiian surfer Paul Freese to protect these marine predators from illegal fishing by local fishermen. Shark Island is a fenced nursery for the conservation and breeding of reef sharks. Predators are regularly fed, so those who wish to swim with them need not worry about their safety. At the Shark Island nursery, you can learn a lot about reef sharks and see them up close. The 3-hour tour also includes a visit to the nearby
Sea Turtle Conservation Center and Aquarium, as well as lunch and refreshments.
