West Station is the oldest train station in Budapest. It is located on the Nyugati-ter square in the Pest area. The station was built in 1877 by Eiffel & Cie under the supervision of French engineer Gustave Eiffel, after whom the Eiffel Towerin Paris. The Railway Museum is open in the depot of the station.

You can get to the West Station in Budapest not only to continue the journey, but also to get acquainted with the work of the French architectural company Eiffel (yes, yes, the same one). Nearby is a small park with a fountain and a green lawn, where you can relax from the usual tourist bustle. By the way, the name Zapadny is rather misleading - today the station serves trains of the eastern and northern directions (such is the strange Hungarian logic : )
