Vörösmarty Square is located on the left bank of the Danube, west of the
Great Synagogue. It was formed at the beginning of the 19th century, and in 1926 it received the name of the outstanding Hungarian poet Mihaly Vörösmarty. In the center of the square, a monument made of Carrara marble was erected to him. Along the perimeter of the square are shops and cafes, among which is the famous
