The National Theater is located on the banks of the Danube in the Ferencváros district. It is the main drama theater of the country. The National Theater was founded in 1837 and has been in its current modernist building since 2002. The theater's repertoire includes staging of classical works by Hungarian and foreign playwrights. The hall can accommodate 2500 spectators.
