It so happened that we got to the Krka National Park before visiting the Plitvice Lakes. So they were overjoyed. Amazingly beautiful place! Cascades of waterfalls, lush greenery, fish, ducks - beauty! Here Nikola Tesla built the first hydroelectric power station. We took a tour on the beach. And probably in vain. In addition to the two of us, the rest of the group was English-speaking, so the guide girl was broadcasting exclusively in English. But it was absolutely unimportant, since during the entire excursion we heard no more than a couple of dozen words from her. Having brought us to the main waterfall, she gave us three hours and faded away. No, we had a wonderful time these three hours, rinsing along with everyone in the puddles formed by water in the coastal rock. Walking there is quite dangerous - you can easily dislocate your leg, slipping on the slippery and perforated bottom.
Therefore, the bulk, including us, preferred to move half-swimming, half-crawling, since the water there was about knee-deep. Closer to the waterfall, the depth began, but buoys were installed directly at the waterfall, for which, for some reason, it is impossible to swim. Allegedly, it can be beaten with a pebble that fell along with the water of the waterfall. I don't know, I've had occasion to swim in several much higher waterfalls, but I did not even imagine such a danger. In general, it was good, but an hour for swimming would have been quite enough, and the rest of the time should have been spent more usefully, walking along the numerous paths further along the route. But they didn’t tell us anything, and we naively believed that there was nothing further. And only then did they deign to approach the map and understand how wrong we were! You could still walk and walk there! A girl-guide who appeared three hours later loaded us onto a boat, on which we rafted further to the town of Skradin.
In general, I liked the tour. But a day or two later we had an excursion to Plitvice! It was great! But, comparing these two excursions, it is impossible not to note a few points: the Krka National Park is much closer to Trogir, where we lived, than Plitvice Lakes. Therefore, on this excursion we managed to visit two more cities - Sibenik and Primosten. The excursion, in itself, is much less tiring than excursions to the lakes. And, most importantly, you can swim here! On Plitvice - no, no! However, there are no locker rooms and this attraction is not suitable for everyone. In general, as an alternative to Plitvice, I think Krka is fine if you don't want to travel far.
