Ancient city of Dvigrad
Dvigrad
Croatia, Rovinj
Dvigrad is an ancient city and fortress of the 11th century on the Istrian peninsula, near the town of Kanfanar. It is located in the deep Draga gorge, which stretches from Pazin to the sea and passes into the Lim Canal.
The main gates of the city and the second line of fortress walls, as well as huge watchtowers, have been well preserved to this day. Tour buses run to the fortress.
Dvigrad is still almost untouched by reconstruction, the territory is not equipped for tourism. In addition to tourism, there is a place for sports climbing - Dvigrad stands on a limestone cliff, the southern slope of which is exposed, several routes are open on it.
