Dubrovnik is known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic", a historical landmark on the Croatian island coast of Dalmatia. Massive stone walls - over 25 meters high and 6 meters wide in some places - protect Stary Grad (Old Town), remnants from the 15th century when Dubrovnik was an independent republic vying with neighboring Venice for influence and power. Looking at them, you involuntarily feel the power and reliability. A very energetic place.→
