Ethnographical museum
Rupe Museum, Etnografski muzej
Croatia, Dubrovnik
In 1991, a new Ethnographic Museum was opened in the renovated building of the granary, with approximately 5,000 exhibits. The granary, built by the government of Dubrovnik in the oldest part of the city in 1590, was formerly used to store municipal grain stocks. The original architectural structure of the first floor was preserved during the reconstruction period.
The permanent exhibition illustrates the cultural heritage of Dubrovnik - the economic and material culture is shown on the first floor of the building, and the traditional costumes of the people, folklore, textiles and various accessories, etc., on the second floor.
