The old city was founded in the XIV century, surrounded by high fortifications. There are several entrances to the Old City, but the port gates, which are located opposite the seaport, are considered the main ones. The old city is divided into two parts: the "Collacio" quarter, which used to be the main area of ​​​​residence of the knights, and "Burgo", considered the main city. Here you can see the three vaults of the Church of Our Lady of Burgo and the Palace of the Grand Masters, visit the Archaeological Museum.

Beautiful
Great immersion in the atmosphere of antiquity. Surrounded by strong walls, the city itself is lovely, winding streets, alleys, lanes. It is interesting to wander around here, although noisy, loud, modern tourists "snap" with their gadgets all around here interfere. Silence here until 8 am, as we found out later.→

beauties
I really, really liked the old town. I love places like this. I would also very much like to look at this place when everything was just rebuilt here. Travel back in time, even if just for a minute. Huge crowds of people interfered, behind which sometimes the city itself was not visible. But then one countryman said that he just had to enter the city from the side of the stadium, where there are always fewer people (at times) and it is quiet.→
