Monastery of Kalopetra

The monastery is located at the northern end of the Petaloudes Valley, km from the Butterfly Park. It was built in 1782 by one of the representatives of the famous aristocratic Ypsilanti family. During the feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God, numerous pilgrims rush there. The attraction of the monastery is the iconostasis carved from wood.
