The Monastery of the Archangel Michael is the main attraction of the island. It is located in its southern part, in Panormitis Bay (hence its second name). It was built in the 18th century in the Venetian style. The monastery is famous for its main shrine - a two-meter icon of St. Michael. Also noteworthy is the unusual bell tower.
