The new municipal theater was built on the site of a theater bombed in 1943, built in 1902 by the Italian architect Corrado Pergolesi. In 1952, it was decided not to restore the remains, but to finally demolish them. The new building was built for almost 20 years and opened in 1981.
Today, in the municipal theater, as well as on the site in front of the fortress, numerous and varied events are organized: rock music and modern dance concerts, symphony concerts, theater performances.
