The end of the season (end of October), this should be taken into account in my review of the village. Of course, the most beautiful rocks, bays and sea grottoes are good in any season. The advantage of October is a very small number of people. It is very important for me! I'm scared to imagine what is happening on these small beaches and narrow roads in August. In October, it is quite bathable, the water does not seem warm at first, but a minute after dipping it is very comfortable. But I'm not an indicator: I'm not a fan of swimming in general and I love the cold more than the heat. The village itself is a narrow winding road along the sea, with 1-3 lines of houses on both sides of the road. A road without a sidewalk or shoulder, like almost everywhere else on the island. Therefore, carless tourists need to take this into account when choosing a place to stay. The coast is rocky, the coastline is "torn", many bays, each of which has a beach.
Some beaches are not accessible from the shore, you can get there by rented boat (with or without a captain). You can rent a boat up to 30hp in Greece ATTENTION without any rights, licenses to manage and even a deposit! One short lesson on driving, a map with pictures of beaches and instructions, and you can swim. Prices are different on the island, but on average 100 euros a day or 70 half a day. Plus fuel. We dashed off 12 euros of fuel in 4 hours. Frankly, Paleokastritsa is not the best place for a long stay, but a few days is quite ok. If the apartment has a beautiful view, you can stay for a week and a half. Prices in stores (and they are rather small shops here) are significantly higher than supermarkets in Corfu, and the assortment is very scarce. In the evening we saw queues for buses. What happened to this summer, I have no idea. The monastery on the mountain in my opinion - nothing interesting. Viewpoints around him-norms. Walking, especially along the sea, will not work.
The walks are short and you don't get too far. Above Paleokastritsa there are mountain villages, very picturesque. The views from there are even more beautiful. It's a long walk, you have to go.
The most important thing in Paleokastritsa is the views of the rocks and the sea and these views are amazing. For their sake, you can tolerate the absence of a sidewalk or a supermarket nearby.
