Cretan Marine Aquarium

The Cretan Marine Aquarium was opened in 2005 and is located 15 km from Heraklion. The exhibits of the aquarium represent the marine fauna of the Mediterranean and include marine organisms of more than 250 species. In 2008-2009, 25 new exposition tanks appeared in the building, now there are about 60 of them. There is a small cinema hall on the territory of the aquarium, which broadcasts films about the life of the underwater kingdom. The Cretan Marine Aquarium is the largest aquarium in Greece.

Nothing special
We went to the aquarium many times. Everyone always has their own chip. Cretan has nothing special. The oceanarium in Moscow is much better→

Interesting for days and adults, you can take interesting photos, informative
The Oceanarium, or as it is called the Cretan Aquarium, is located at Address: Pasifais, Gouves 70014. If you go by bus from Heraklion towards Agias Nikalaous, then ask "CretAquarium". A little down to the sea you will get to this place. The entrance ticket costs 6 euros for an adult. Works daily from 9-30 to 21-00. There are a lot of people in the morning, but in the late afternoon it is almost free. Here you can take beautiful photos, watch the feeding of fish, show children the underwater world of the Mediterranean Sea.→

Not the best aquarium
Entrance for an adult - 9 euros, children under 5 years old - free of charge. There are not so many fish, but I liked the design and the cinema hall, in which films about marine life are played non-stop. You can get around in an hour.→

Small, expensive entrance
The entrance is expensive - 9 euros (adult ticket), and the aquarium itself is small and designed more for children. There are also turtles and baby sharks, but all this did not make a big impression. Especially if you've been to the Barcelona Aquarium. It was still quite cold, I don’t know why. There is a restaurant, shop and wifi.→
