Malia - the modern name of the ancient city of the Minoan state on the island of Crete, with a palace, in size, standing on a par with Knossos and Phaistos. The real name of the city is unknown. In addition to the palace, quite a few private dwellings and burials in Chrysolakis have been excavated here. The city ruins are located 2 km east of the tourist center of Malia.
Now Malia is a popular resort, with many hotels, shops, bars, nightclubs, popular with people from all over the world.
