Chania Catholic Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is located on the territory of the former monastery of St. Francis. From the street it is almost invisible, only above a small passage the emblem of the Order of Franciscans is preserved - crossed, pierced nails of Christ. The low bell tower is also covered by the walls of the houses, and can be seen only from the courtyard. The grand opening of the church took place on April 25.1879 and since then regular services have been held there. The church is the cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Crete, as well as the parish church for the Catholic parish of the city.→
