The marble facing of the audience seats and the stage was restored in the 1950s. Since then, the Odeon has been one of the main stages of the annual Athens Festival, held in the Greek capital from June to September. Maria Callas, the Bolshoi Ballet, Mikis Theodorakis and many others performed on the stage of the Odeon.
