Church of St. George, Kashveti Church of St. George

Kashveti Church is an Orthodox church in the center of Tbilisi, located opposite the Georgian Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue.
The Kashveti Church was built from 1904 to 1910 according to the project of the Tiflis architect Leopold Bielfeld, who took the medieval Samtavisi Cathedral as a model. The church was erected on the site of another brick church built here by order of the Amilakhvari family in 1753 and dilapidated. The frescoes of the church were made in 1947 by Lado Gudiashvili.
