Cross Pass - a pass on the Georgian Military Highway (Vladikavkaz - Tbilisi) at an altitude of 2379 m through the Main Caucasian Range. It leads from the valley of the Terek River to the valley of the Aragvi River. To the west of the pass is the Kelskoe volcanic plateau.
The name "cross" pass was given in 1824 when a stone cross was erected to mark the point of the pass. This cross was seen by A. S. Pushkin, A. S. Griboyedov, M. Yu. Lermontov, who were passing by here.
