The Batumi Archaeological Museum has been operating since 1994. Its funds contain 22,800 museum exhibits - monuments of material culture of different eras found on the territory of Adjara: in Tsikhisdziri, Kvashta, Skhalta, Khikhadziri, Makhvilauri.
In addition, the museum has a restoration laboratory. Particular attention is paid to the graphic and photographic fixation of materials stored in the funds.
Since the end of 2007, a popular science exposition has been operating in the museum, which contains the most unique monuments of material culture from different eras, samples of jewelry craft found in southwestern Georgia.
