Zarzma Monastery is located in the village of the same name, in the Adigen region, in the gorge of the Kvabliani River. In its present form, the monastery was built in the XIV century. The building of the temple has uncharacteristic proportions for this period and is made of rough hewn stone. After the arrival of the Turks, the monastery was abandoned and abandoned for almost 300 years. Only in the 19th century it was repaired and restored. Today the monastery complex consists of a domed church, a belfry and several chapels. Previously, there were also monastic cells and a refectory, which have not survived to this day.
