Great britain, Oxford
The Oxford Botanic Garden, founded in 1621 as a school, is the oldest botanical garden in England. The ancient brick walls that surrounded the garden area, together with the majestic entrance arch, have been well preserved to this day. In a small area of the garden, a national collection of plant samples is carefully preserved, numbering 7,000 species: from the Mediterranean, Africa, America, Australia; plants used in the food and chemical industries, medicine; a greenhouse of ferns, a rock garden, a collection of milkweeds, etc.
A single ticket is also valid for visiting a branch of the garden 10 km from Oxford, with a collection of trees and shrubs, plants growing in the mountains.
