Old Trafford Stadium

The home stadium of the titled football club of the English Premier League "Manchester United". The arena, which can accommodate about 75 thousand spectators, is located in Trafford (Greater Manchester), being the second largest in England after London's Wembley. Near the sports complex there is a ground metro station. Old Trafford was built in 1909 and the first game was played in 1910. During the Second World War, Old Trafford was badly damaged by bombing, but by 1949 it was completely restored. Over the following decades, the sports complex has undergone many renovations and expansions. In 1986, the Manchester United Museum, the first football museum in the world, was opened on the grounds of the stadium. The stadium hosted matches of the World and European Championships, as well as the final of the prestigious European club tournament - the Champions League.
