The National Gallery of Scotland is located in the city center near Edinburgh Castle. It was founded in 1859. The gallery is housed in a neoclassical building with beautiful columns. It contains the richest collection of works by European masters of painting and sculpture - Rubens, Monet, Picasso, El Greco, as well as a huge library and numerous archival materials.
