The Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh is located north of Edinburgh Castle. It was founded in 1670. The garden occupies a vast territory of 25 hectares, on which over 13 thousand species of plants grow. It is divided into several parts according to climatic zones. Particularly noteworthy are the Chinese garden, heather garden, palm greenhouse, as well as rockeries, where rare alpine plants are collected.
