Holyrood Palace
Palace of Holyrood House, Holyroodhouse, Palace of the Holy Cross
Great britain, Edinburgh
Holyrood Palace is the official residence of the British kings in Scotland. At the beginning of the XII century, the building of Holyrood Abbey was built here, which is now preserved only in the form of ruins. The building of the palace, built at the beginning of the 16th century in the Renaissance style, is a real masterpiece of architecture, and its interiors are decorated with ancient tapestries, frescoes and stucco. Elizabeth II loves to visit Holyrood Palace in the summer, and the rest of the time access to it is free.
