Birmingham Symphony Hall
Symphony Hall, Birmingham Concert Symphony Hall
Great britain, Birmingham
The Birmingham Symphony Hall was opened by Queen Elizabeth II of England in June 1991, in the building of the International Congress Center, and is considered one of the best in the world in terms of acoustic quality, thanks to a special acoustic dome that can rise or fall above the stage. In 2001, the largest mechanical organ in the UK was installed in the hall, with 6,000 pipes.
In the Symphony Hall, which has 2262 seats, up to 270 events are held per year: concerts of folk, modern and classical music, organ concerts, various public meetings. The Birmingham Symphony Hall is the rehearsal base for the city's symphony orchestra.
