The cathedral is located in the historical center of the city. This is a Gothic temple built in 1324-1509. It is very simple from the outside, but when you step inside, you are amazed at the well-preserved, rich furnishings. As the main cathedral of the city, it replaced the old Romanesque church, which was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and is currently connected by a passage (closed) to the cathedral on the north side. In the cathedral you can see the altar barrier (16th century), a stone font of the Romanesque period, an organ (16th century), the burial of King Sancho, neo-Gothic stained glass windows (19th century). The frescoes decorating the cathedral were painted in the 2nd half of the 19th century. In the side chapels decorations from the 16th and 17th centuries have been preserved. Among them, the multi-colored 14th-century Crucifix known as the Devot Christ stands out. It is located in the 5th chapel near the northern wall. The cathedral is active and masses are held. The visit is free.
