Place de la Bastille

Place de la Bastille got its name from the famous fortress located on this site and dismantled after the French Revolution. In the center of the square is the 80-meter July Column dedicated to the events of the 1830 revolution. The Bastille Opera, opened in 1989, is also located here. Today Place de la Bastille is one of the cultural centers of Paris, various concerts and exhibitions are held here.

Abundance of roads and transport
It is worth coming here to see once to know what it is and how it looks, but there is nothing interesting there. There is just a column around which there is a huge flow of cars, as many streets diverge in different directions from the square. It is almost always crowded, because there is a metro station and many bus stops nearby. This square can also be the starting point for a tour of the Marais.→

It's the Bastille Opera House
It is a pity, of course, that the Bastille was not preserved. We looked ourselves on the way to Place des Vosges. Admire the theater-opera Bastille. Unfortunately I haven't visited yet. The area is surprisingly small. It is not difficult to come by metro and admire this area. Since there are boulevards nearby, there are a sufficient number of cafes and shops.→

And the fortress fell
This is where the Bastille stood. And now only the contour on the road reminds of the terrifying fortress. In the center of the square rises the July Column, at the base of which those who died in the July and February revolutions are buried. I put 8 for the historical place. It's good that I was here with a tour, I myself would not know when I got there.→
