The museum is located in the Marais quarter in the 16th century mansion of the former royal treasurer Donon. It displays a collection of 18th century French paintings, Chinese and Meissen porcelain, ceramics, sculpture and furniture, all of which give museum visitors an insight into the life of the elegant Parisian society of the time. This collection was assembled by businessman Ernest Cognac and his wife, Marie-Louise Jeu, between 1900 and 1925, known as the founders of the Samaritain department store.→
