This Romanesque church is the only thing that has survived to this day from the Benedictine abbey, which was located here in the Middle Ages. Although there is little left of the abbey itself, the church makes an impression. It is always interesting to come to a place where there is a centuries-old history. The Church of Saint-Germain-des-Pré s is worth a visit, at least because it was the abbey that gave its name to the quarter that has grown around it. The abbey was the first royal necropolis, even before Saint-Denis.→
