I have been to La Defense many times, the area itself is worth seeing, but the arch is nothing special. Just a tall skyscraper 110 m of an unusual shape (tesseract) in three dimensions. When the observation deck is open, you can see the compositional axis of Paris from it: the Great Arch is visible through the Arc de Triomphe and the Small Arc de Triomphe in the Tuileries Park. In windy weather, which often happens on the Defense, you get under the arch like in a wind tunnel. There are always a lot of people there on weekdays, so choose a day off for good photos.→
